Chinese stamps with birds (birdwatching is my hobby, see also my bird page for Tibetan birds: www.tibetbirds.com). This is only stamps where the birds are the main theme. I did this for fun ... but most stamps I have and can offer as well, the few ones I don't have I can order on demand. (Please let me know if you know about other Chinese bird stamps that I may have overlooked).

Prices: all for mint condition stamps (except if I say otherwise). Remember: stamps in China are rationed and one only gets them reliably when booked and paid one year ahead. So I don't. Sometimes I will get some stamps at the post office, but most I have to buy at a stamp shop - and sure the dealer has a profit, so I don't get the stamps at print value. Still I sell them cheap (please compare!). I collect them myself and just always buy a few more. I need some profit to make up for shipping expenses and time getting them all ...

China has too many stamps. I don't collect and offer all but only the topics I am interested in. That is Tibet, Buddhism and birds. For Chinese Tibet related stamps go here,
and Buddhist stamps here.

Seeing birds as "beneficial" is a new development. Still in 1958 Mao proclaimed the "4 pests" campaign ... One of the pests being sparrows which were believed to eat to much of the grain harvest. Sparrows (but actually ALL birds) were chased and hunted, and mostly exhausted by making noise (banging pots etc.) until they fell from the sky from exhaustion. Hundreds of millions of birds were killed. With no more natural enemies insects took over - and ate/ destroyed far more crops than birds could have done. Millions of people died.
